Collection SS 12

CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA, is the gateway to the rugged Cape of Good Hope and the fascinating east beyond – and this iconic, vibrant port is the inspiration for amore di mamma’s Spring/Summer 2012 Collection.

Blazing reds and bright yellows inspired by the Bo-Kaap Quarter’s brilliant colours, unique prints and nautical stripes, this vivacious new collection is perfect for young adventurers everywhere.

Boys’ wear is peppered with shapes and themes familiar to everyone who sails. Epaulettes and sailor pants, sailing jackets, polo and nautical shirt- detailing all feature in the collection. There are stunning raincoats in case a shower suddenly strikes. Nautical stripes also make an appearance in the loungewear range.

The girls’ collection was inspired by kite-sailing in Table Bay. These skirts, dresses and tunics are light and airy, floating off the body like a kite. Made from a beautiful cotton voile, plain or printed, this fabric is luxurious and comfortable for the amore girl, who will be thrilled by the shapes and pleats reminiscent of sails.

This season we introduce the “amore” print, uniquely designed for amore di mamma®. Also inspired by the dance of an airborne kite, it features abstract “flying” hearts lifted from the amore logo. This print is found in special girls’ pieces including skirts, dresses, and inside trench coats and jeans. The amore heart can also be found finely embroidered on the back pockets of jeans.

Other prints in this collection tap into the fashionable oversized gingham trend, while some explore different versions of the nautical stripe. Thanks to these prints adding a flourish to the pockets, waistband and lining of many garments, little trend-setters will be able to coordinate several items with these features – or wear them individually to showcase their special touches.

Vibrant, bright and chic, amore di mamma’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection will capture the imagination of parents and children alike.
